Fit & install

What post sizes do BuzzCaps fit?

Standard 4" and 5" vinyl deck or fence posts. Each cap includes a 4" adapter. For 5x5 posts, remove the adapter so the internal channels lock into the post.

Do I need tools?

No. Press the cap onto the post. For a permanent 4x4 install you may use PVC glue; it is optional.

How do I install on a 4x4 vs 5x5?

4x4: leave the adapter in, remove any old decorative cap if needed, set the BuzzCap on the post. 5x5: remove the 4" adapter, tilt the BuzzCap in, then snap the other side. See the full steps on our How It Works page.

Fuel & use

What fuel should I use?

Clean-burning citronella torch fuel (or FireFly citronella, eucalyptus, or unscented). Fill the canister on a flat surface, never more than 3/4 full, then return it to the cap.

Do BuzzCaps come with fuel?

Caps include the 12 oz canister and wick setup ready for fuel. Fuel is sold separately. Replacement canister 6-packs are available if you need extras.

How many caps do I need?

One per post around the seating perimeter works best. Most standard decks do well with a 6-pack. Larger decks and long fence lines often use 8-12.
